Winter 2014 Grantees
CONGREGATION KOL SHOFAR
Will be continuing the development of their organic garden by installing drip-line irrigation. This is an interfaith project with Westminster Church that brings the community together to encourage a closer relationship with the Earth and each other. Produce is donated to communities in need.
SAN FRANCISCO THEOLOGICAL SEMINARY
Will continue the development of their organic community garden by installing two additional raised beds. The project serves low-income students and their families, where they will be able to access organic produce and enjoy the serenity of the garden.
SLEEPY HOLLOW PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH
Will begin their community garden project, the Food and Justice Garden by constructing two raised beds, where the produce will shared with the church’s elderly and disabled neighbors who have little access to fresh local produce. Additionally, a youth program will be initiated for educational purposes around sustainable agriculture where youth will harvest crops and prepare meals for the homeless.
THESE THREE PROJECTS ARE MADE POSSIBLE BY MARIN COMMUNITY FOUNDATION.
